Left to right:  Grand Tetons and lake, Death Valley, CA, and more of Grand Tetons, WY.

Photos taken in the '70s and early '80s.

These images were scanned from L.A.'s Kodachrome 64 slides (he used nothing else!).  These pictures are of varying quality at this time. They were scanned a few years ago, using inferior software and hardware. They have since been "cleaned up" using Photoshop - but sometimes there is only so much a person can do! We now have a better (though not professional quality) scanner, and some better software (Photoshop is the only way to go!). So hopefully from now on his slides can be scanned with better results.

L.A., ( Leslie Alan Dunster, born 1919, died 1988) had a love for photography all his life.  He had a natural talent for it, but did not think so.   His habit was to take multiple photos of the same subject, changing the exposure setting a little in each one, insuring that at least one of the pictures would be to his pleasing!   When going through literally thousands of L.A.'s slides, we found many duplicates!

He also was from the "old school" when it came to photography, and refused to use any automation on his camera (a Vivitar SLR). No built-in light meter, for instance. He continued to use a manual handheld light meter, even after all cameras were equipped with a built-in meter.

Some slides L.A. took in a visit in 1961 to England - his first visit to the land of his father, Alan Dunster.  From left to right: Windsor Castle, a stained glass window in Stoke Podges, Windsor Castle, graveyard in Stoke Podges. L.A. visited England (and other parts of Europe) a couple of times in the early 1960s. He took many lovely Kodachrome slides on these trips.  All his slides are in good condition, and still have bright, vibrant color.
